The basics of the game
Cornhole means "blind hole" in German. This term already indicates what this popular game is all about: It's about a bag and a hole! The bag has to be thrown through a hole in the Cornhole. The hole is located on a board - the so-called board. More about this later, under the heading Rules and Procedure of the game. Sackhole can be played by 2 to 4 players.

Since the rules are relatively simple, it does not matter whether children or adults play. Blind hole is a good alternative to other outdoor games such as crossboccia or miniature golf. It can be played in the home garden, in the park, on the beach or on the campsite. All you need is a free and level surface of about 10 x 2 meters and the typical blind hole equipment. You can buy this in retail shops or on the internet.

The equipment - board and sandbag
The equipment for cornhole is not very extensive and can easily be transported everywhere by car. Basically you only need two sloping boards with one hole each and eight small throwing bags that fit through the hole in the board. There are high-quality cornhole sets available in retail stores and on the Internet that are perfect for playing in your home garden. If you are a skilled craftsman, you can easily make the set yourself. Instructions can found on the Internet.

The throwing bags are either a small sandbag or a bag filled with corn or beans. You can also find bags filled with granulate in the trade. Whether sandbag, corn sack or granulate sack - all sack variants have the same purpose: they must lie well in the hand and be easy to throw. The board has either a size of 90 x 60 or 120 x 60 centimetres - depending on the manufacturer. That is all you need. Tip: Put on comfortable and wide clothing. It doesn't have to be functional clothing like for sports, but the clothing must be wide enough so as not to disturb when throwing the small bags.

The rules and the course of the game
The rules of the cornhole are easy to follow and can be easily understood by a child from about six years of age. The basic idea of the cornhole game is to throw the bags into the hole and score points. A game consists of several sets, which in turn are divided into several rounds - so-called frames. Both teams gather around a board at the beginning of the game and face the other team - which is standing next to the other board. Then all players of one team throw their throwing bags onto the board of the other team.

Of course, the opposing team is not allowed to intervene. Before the other team starts the next round of throwing, the scores of the first team are calculated. There are three points for each sandbag that has flown through the hole and one point for each bag on the board. Zero points are awarded for each bag on the ground next to the board. The first team to reach 21 points wins the set. Similar to tennis, the Cornhole is usually played best-of-three. The team that has won two sets is the winner.
