What exactly is darts?
In this game, everything revolves around the large dartboard, which is hung on a wall, for example, and is marked with different colours, or colours, and the arrows that each player receives, which must then be thrown onto the throwing board. The aim of the game is to get as many points "good" as possible to finally land on zero points. The player who achieves this the fastest wins. First of all, take a close look at the disc when throwing darts: all numbers from one to 20 are shown on the disc.

In order to hit the numbers, you will be required to be very accurate, often there are single-digit numbers next to two-digit numbers. The disc also stands out in colour: in the middle of the disc there are special fields: a green field or circle, also known as "green Single Bull", which counts 25 points. And the red Bull's eye, which is in the middle of the disc. If you land there with your arrow, you will be credited or deducted 50 points.

If you look at the disc, you will also discover other rings on it. Once on the outer edge - this ring is also called a "double" - because if you hit a number there, it will be doubled in value. The second ring on the inside is called the "triple". If you hit a number here on the inside, this value is tripled. If you hit 20, you get 60 points. In the double, this would be "only" 40 points if you hit the 20.

In general, a dartboard is about 45 centimetres in diameter. Each player receives arrows that are a maximum of 30 centimetres long and weigh a maximum of 50 grams. If you want to play according to the exact rules of the game, you should place the disc about 1.75 m above the ground. Each player should keep a distance of 2.35 m from the disc. For children there are even extra children's darts discs, or arrows.

Game variations
There are different variants that you and your children can play in your free time or for the holidays. Apart from the disc described above, there are also electronic dart discs which take over the counting of points, and the darts are also different or lighter. Depending on the game mode, 501 or 301 points count as "starting point". The aim of the game is always to get to exactly 0 points and thus win the game. You and your fellow players receive all three darts.

These three arrows are thrown by the player whose turn it is, one after the other. All points scored by the player are deducted from the original number, i.e. 501 or 301. If you have "too many points" in total, this score is called "thrown over", you have not won, instead your opponent may now try to reach 0 points. If no winner is chosen after a multiple change (usually 20 times) - i.e. none of you reaches zero - the player who was closer to zero wins.

Additional Variations
If you are a complete beginner, you should play "straight out" according to the rules. This is mainly about ending the game. It doesn't matter which field you hit, as long as you get to 0. There are other variations, such as "Double out". Here you have to "finish" the double ring to end the game and get a score of 0. If the "Master out" variant is played, you may also finish your game with a triple or double throw.
