Poppy seed cake with crumbles
There are several recipes for baking cakes with poppy seeds. Especially the version with sprinkles is one of the classics. For the short pastry you need about 150 grams of flour, 75 grams of butter and sugar, a packet of vanillin sugar, a teaspoon of baking powder, an egg and some butter to grease the cake tin. Prepare the crumbles from 100 grams of sugar and butter, 150 grams of flour and a little cinnamon. For the filling of the poppy seed cake you need: 250 grams of quark, 200 grams of schmant, two eggs, two packets of vanillin sugar, 100 grams of sugar, one packet of vanilla custard powder, as well as two packets of ready-to-bake poppy seed mass (approx. 500 grams in total) and a little icing sugar for dusting.

For the short pastry of the poppy seed cake, mix all the ingredients in a bowl. As soon as a smooth dough is formed, put it in the refrigerator for about half an hour. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees at top and bottom heat and prepare a springform pan (about 26 centimetres in diameter) which you dust with a little flour. Now roll out the dough on a work surface and put it into the springform pan. In addition, form a rim about 3 centimetres high for the poppy seed cake. For the crumbles, put all the above ingredients into a mixing bowl and mix until small crumbles are formed. Keep them cool until you use them.

To fill your cake, mix all the ingredients in a mixing bowl and stir until you have a smooth and homogeneous mixture. Now pour the mixture into the springform pan on the shortcrust pastry and spread it evenly. Place the poppy-seed cake in the oven for 25 minutes, making sure that a light skin has formed on the top. Now take the cake out of the oven and spread the previously prepared crumbles on it. Place the cake in the oven again for 20 minutes. After it has cooled down, you can offer the cake to your guests.

Baking poppy-seed cake- if you need to make it fast
Recipes for poppy-seed cakes can also be found for people who may have less time to bake. You're one of them? Then maybe this recipe is right for you: You need one cup of flour (about 200 ml), one cup of blue poppy seeds (not ground), about one cup of sugar, one cup of rapeseed oil, one egg, three egg whites, three egg yolks, one teaspoon of baking powder and some salt. For the cream you need: a packet of Paradise Cream Vanilla (not cooked, just mixed), two packets of whipped cream, some hazelnut brittle to sprinkle on the cake.

Stir all ingredients except the three egg whites, the cream and the paradise cream into each other and make sure that the mixture is homogeneous. Beat the three egg whites until stiff and carefully stir them into the mixture. Now put everything into a greased springform pan (diameter approx. 26 cm) and bake the poppy seed cake at 175 degrees top and bottom heat. The baking time is about 15-20 minutes, test in between with a wooden stick to see if the cake is done.

No more dough residue may stick to the stick. As the cake cools, mix the cream with the Paradise Cream until a firmer mass is formed. Place these on the cake and then sprinkle the mixture with the hazelnut brittle. Of course, these are only two recipes for inspiration.
